One More Game
In his last year of University, a young man develops an unhealthy addiction to video games. A camera crew caught up with him to tell his story...

About One More Game
After producing 'I Like Him Because He's Quirky', I had a hunger to produce something fun. Just a fun, enjoyable shoot with a whacky premise for everyone to enjoy. That's where this idea was born, originally I was going to produce a pilot for a Office Style show about Students but plans changed and I ended up pursuing this idea instead.
This is the result of me and Joe just wanting to have some fun with it, we only wrote a bare bones script for it and we both encouraged improvisation and spontaneity during filming. Having worked together that frequently now, me and Joe have built a comfortable rapport to be able to produce something like this and not be stressed or worried about it in the slightest.
The concept of being addicted to gaming is something that we knew we'd be able to do accurately, given we both play an insane amount of games! Throughout the whole process, we found that we could do a few tongue in cheek jokes about gaming that only those who play would understand, bringing different layers to the piece.
I really enjoy producing these comedically led projects, it's a simple shoot and it encourages all involved to really flex that comedic muscle.
Inspirations
Whilst this project was mainly born out of our own brains, there are a few things that I borrowed from when we were heading towards production:
The Office (US) - This was unavoidable really, it's a favourite show of mine and producing a project in the mockumentary format, this show was something that I just had to take inspiration from. The way they portray normal people in a naturally funny way, putting them in weird and unique situations, allowing the actors to play off of, it was definitely something that I wanted to apply to my own work here.
The Attitude and Style of Olivia Wilde - She has previously emphasised her "anti-asshole" policy that she keeps on her sets. Meaning that she ensures that there is only positivity and hard work under her direction and that is a value that I want to bring to my sets. Specifically this one, I found that having a positive, laid back and easy atmosphere on this production benefitted it greatly, as we were easily comfortable and allowed to have fun with it rather than working to a script and robust schedule.
