About the Short
This was a short film that I co-created with two of my friends and frequent collaborators, Livvi Parsons and Alex Saddiqi. It was made within a 48 hour window, that's including Writing, Shooting and Editing. This was for the film challenge No Sleep Till Film Fest, ran by the company AGBO and spearheaded by the famous directors, the Russo Brothers.
This is quite possibly the most fun I've ever had on a set thus far. Having it be based comedically in tone and the short window we had to produce it, means we worked efficiently and productively. We drafted through a few various different ideas, the prompt was to create something that explores, bends or even subverts genres all in a three minute short film. One of the early ideas we had was a man looking through a photo album and each photo triggers a genre change but we couldn't really find a way to make that work properly.
This short film was an entirely new challenge for me as it's the fastest turn around I've ever done for a project. All of my projects usually take at least a couple of weeks from start to finish but doing this over a weekend was a lot of fun and really changed my viewpoint on filmmaking.
